Reflect and Reconsider

When choosing my topic I had many contrivercies in my mind. For example, the war in Irak, false plastic sergons, and steroids. I initiated decideing on a topic by thinking, which topic was the most relevant to me? I thought non, but the use of steroids is mostly common on teenage students like me so I decided to go for it. My blog topic is steroids.
I started knowing the basics on steroids. That their tremendously bad for the body and also that they make your private parts shrink. Researching information on steroids was some what difficult because there are many varieties of them. Finding the website on blog number three was interesting. It seemed that the most popular websites on steroids were the ones were you purchased them. Then I finally found a website that terminated with .gov. I knew that was going to be my website. The steroids survey for blog number four was motivating. I found out that almost every one I gave my survey to decided that steroids were bad for the body and that they should not be use under any circumstance. This really made me think that with my blog I could transform what victums thought of this drug. I really got pleasure from researching my subject and I hope I can find more intersting facts about steroids.

Survey on Steroids

For my survey on steroids I asked three simple questions. The first one was, do you believe steroids are good when it's a small and responsible amount? The second one, do you know what steroids are? And lastly number three, do you believe steroids are used more today than they were before? I surveyed ten people, 7 girls and 3 boys.

The results for the first question are, 6 girls said no and 1 said yes, all the boys said no. This shows that more people are informed that steroids are bad than good. Result for the second question are that everyone said yes. The results demonstrate that steroids are a well known subject between the ages of 12 and 45. Finally the result for question number three, 2 girls said no and the rest said yes. These results give and idea that more pople are informed that steroids are used more today than before.

In conclusion this survey informed me how much people know about steroids. In the future I will post more information about steroids so that me as well as people are more informed on steroids.

Web Site Review

http://www.steroidabuse.gov
This website is a great site to learn about steroids. It is created by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). The website informs readers about what steroids are, how are steroids abused and also how addicts can get help. It is very easy to navigate because 0f the resources and links it has. The website also gives you the option to search anything else on the subject. On the side of the web page there is a resource column that includes different links for any information on steroids and how they are abused. Towards the bottom on the page the website gives a phone number for treatment referral. Which can help any victims of this dangerous drug. All in all this website is a great site to help learners or addicts improve on their knowledge on steroids.

Background Information

Steroids became popular around the 1940’s, when athletes began taking them to increase muscle mass. Steroids were first created when a French physiologist named Charles E. Brown injected himself with a liquid that came from testicles of dogs and guinea pigs. He announced that the “rejuvenating therapy” as so he called it, increased his physical strength and his energy. He also claimed that the injection relieved his constipation and extended his urine arc.

Anabolic steroids were first used during World War II by the German Nazi. They wanted to create a greater race. Afterwards the allies used the anabolic steroids to cure areas affected with war famine to help the ones who suffered from malnourishment.

This horrific drug has been used for many years without an end. And what is worse is that numerous people don’t know the dangers and risks that steroids can have on a human body.

Introduction

The topic that I chose is steroids. I don't know much about them, but what I do know is that they are mainly used among athletes. The reason I chose this topic is so I could educate myself as well as other people about the dangers of this particular drug. I have three main questions on this topic. My first question is, what are the effects of steroids? My second question is, what are steroids made up of? And my last question is, when were steroids first used?
